The Long Way To A Small Angry Planet – Book Review

Hello, people of the internet!

One of my holiday reads was this book. I was particularly excited about reading this because I have been after a story set in space for a long time. I thought the cover was amazing and it always holds my attention whenever I look at it.

But did the story hold my attention like the cover did?

Don’t worry – I won’t be discussing spoilers, so it’s safe to proceed! Continue reading “The Long Way To A Small Angry Planet – Book Review”

Books I Aim To Read This Month (August 2017)

Hello, people of the internet!

Today’s post will be short and sweet as I have lots of posts planned for this week in order to make up for my absence since the beginning of August. This includes me attending book events, book reviews and a mini book haul.

But let’s start off this month with the books I aim to read this month! Continue reading “Books I Aim To Read This Month (August 2017)”

What Was That Book?

Hello, people of the internet!

Have you ever read a book long ago, but you can’t remember what it was called or who wrote it, so you can’t find it?

I have. I have three books I read ages ago, remember vaguely about the cover and the plot, but I can’t find out what they are. I have googled them, but it’s just as useful as trying to find the name and composer of classical music.

So, I thought, “Why not write a post about it? Maybe someone out there feels the same way or may even know which books I’m talking about?”

Here are the three books I want to find, but can’t. Continue reading “What Was That Book?”

Summer Days and Summer Nights – Book Review

Hello, people of the internet!

Back last December, I read My True Love Gave To Me. It is a collection of short stories, written by various authors (who primarily write Young Adult fiction) about romance during the winter holidays; the whole collection is edited by Stephanie Perkins. You can read my review of it here. Once I found out another collection of short stories, also edited by Stephanie Perkins, which is about romance during the summer holidays, I knew I had to get my hands on it.

Just like my My True Love Gave To Me review, I’ve ranked my Top 12 favourites stories from the book. Even though I did like them all, there were some I liked more than others. Feel free to make your own list if you wish (and if you read the book!)

Also, I’ll be discussing each story in some detail, but nothing that will spoil them for you! Continue reading “Summer Days and Summer Nights – Book Review”

My Friday Thoughts – My Holiday Reading Experience

Hello, people of the internet!

I’ve been on holiday this week. It was a last minute decision and I went with one of my best friends to the Greek island of Kos. As you would probably expect (as I am an avid reader), I took a few books with me.

I spent a lot of time by the pool getting a tan (and sunburnt) and reading. It was very relaxing, but I noticed a few things that I thought would be fun to discuss.

Here they are! Continue reading “My Friday Thoughts – My Holiday Reading Experience”

A Darker Shade of Magic – Book Review

Hello, people of the internet!

I’ve seen this book in almost every book shop I go and a lot of people on Twitter have talked about this book a lot – and I mean a lot! I’ve seen loads of great fan art and people tweeting about how the last book in series got them in the feels via gifs.

So, as my blog name would suggest, I got very curious about this book. So I got myself the first book in the series.

(P.S. This review will be spoiler-free, so don’t worry about it!) Continue reading “A Darker Shade of Magic – Book Review”
