Books I Aim To Read This Month (April 2017)

Hello, people of the internet!

Since my monthly series of ‘Books I Aim To Read This Month’ has been a huge success for me so far, I see no reason not to continue! It really does help control my TBR pile and, to be honest, has helped to strengthen my book-related discipline.

So, without further ado and such, here are the books I aim to have read by the end of April 2017! Continue reading “Books I Aim To Read This Month (April 2017)”

My Friday Thoughts – March Summary

Hello, people of the internet!

This Friday, I’ve been thinking about the end of this month…as well as the realisation of how fast 2017 is going! Like, the sudden realisation was quite shocking, to be honest. Shocking as in, ‘Why has time sped up for me? Why is it now that I’m older that time wants my life to go faster?’ ‘But anyway, enough about me and my awareness of time speed, this March has been a great month for my blog! In this month alone, my blog was viewed over 100 times, which I’m very happy about. I’d like to think my blog is progressing nicely.

So, without further ado, here is my summary of March 2017! Continue reading “My Friday Thoughts – March Summary”

Slade House – Book Review

Hello, people of the internet!

Here is a book I couldn’t help but read in one day. I didn’t rush it or force myself to finish it within a day. I just found myself in a good book. Of course, once I finish reading a book and start to think about it, I begin to think about it more logically. I don’t know if anyone does this as well, but I find it difficult to not stop thinking about a book once I’ve read it. And sometimes, when I think I’ve thought it about too much and try to stop, the book somehow finds it’s way back into my brain.

And this is the book in question. Continue reading “Slade House – Book Review”

Our Endless Numbered Days – Book Review

Hello, people of the internet!

Have you bought a book just solely on the cover? Well, I have. Because look at it! Isn’t it just beautiful? It instantly jumped out at me when I was doing my compulsory book shop stroll whenever I go shopping (does anyone else do that?). I did read the blurb, but once I saw that cover, I didn’t think twice about getting the book for myself.

But was the story just as memorising as the cover? Continue reading “Our Endless Numbered Days – Book Review”

My Friday Thoughts – Time and Place Book Tag

Hello, people of the internet!

I have yet again been tagged!

Okay, my friend, Sarah, from The Little Contemporary Corner, recently took part in a tag and said (or wrote, it was a blog post) she tagged everyone who liked the tag. So, technically I have been tagged because I do like it.

Anyway, enough about me and my status of being somewhat tagged, I decided to take part in the ‘Time and Place’ Book Tag! This tag was created by Jen Campbell and it involves choosing ten books that you associate with a time and place. I absolutely love this idea and I cannot wait to let you lot know which ten books I’ve chosen! Continue reading “My Friday Thoughts – Time and Place Book Tag”

Mr Men and Little Miss Character Book Tag

Hello, people of the internet!

Guess what? No, I haven’t just found a tag and decided to take part despite not being tagged again. I have actually been tagged! Yay! Charlotte from the lovely Wonderfully Bookish blog has tagged me in a tag she created. And that tag is – as you can probably guess by the title – the ‘Mr Men and Little Miss Character Boom Tag!’

For those who don’t know, the Mr Men and Little Miss book series were created by British author, Roger Hargreaves, which began in 1971. I loved these stories as a child and I honestly get nostalgic seeing them still around today.

Thank you, Charlotte, for tagging me!

So, without further ado, here are my answers to the ‘Mr Men and Little Miss Character Book Tag’! Continue reading “Mr Men and Little Miss Character Book Tag”

The Girl on the Train – Book Review

Hello, people of the internet!

Yet another book I bought when it came out and have only read recently. Seriously, I need to work on that. Anyway, the strangest thing about this particular book is when the film version came out last year, it still didn’t make it want to read the book. It’s mainly because I didn’t want to get lost in hype. Was it really as great as people said it was? I try not to read anything with huge expectations because there is a chance it wouldn’t live up to it and I would end up disappointed.

Thanks to my new monthly posts ‘Books I Aim To Read This Month’, I have finally read The Girl on the Train.

Should I have read it sooner or should I have never took it off the shelf? Continue reading “The Girl on the Train – Book Review”
