The Long Way To A Small Angry Planet – Book Review

Hello, people of the internet!

One of my holiday reads was this book. I was particularly excited about reading this because I have been after a story set in space for a long time. I thought the cover was amazing and it always holds my attention whenever I look at it.

But did the story hold my attention like the cover did?

Don’t worry – I won’t be discussing spoilers, so it’s safe to proceed! Continue reading “The Long Way To A Small Angry Planet – Book Review”

Summer Days and Summer Nights – Book Review

Hello, people of the internet!

Back last December, I read My True Love Gave To Me. It is a collection of short stories, written by various authors (who primarily write Young Adult fiction) about romance during the winter holidays; the whole collection is edited by Stephanie Perkins. You can read my review of it here. Once I found out another collection of short stories, also edited by Stephanie Perkins, which is about romance during the summer holidays, I knew I had to get my hands on it.

Just like my My True Love Gave To Me review, I’ve ranked my Top 12 favourites stories from the book. Even though I did like them all, there were some I liked more than others. Feel free to make your own list if you wish (and if you read the book!)

Also, I’ll be discussing each story in some detail, but nothing that will spoil them for you! Continue reading “Summer Days and Summer Nights – Book Review”

A Darker Shade of Magic – Book Review

Hello, people of the internet!

I’ve seen this book in almost every book shop I go and a lot of people on Twitter have talked about this book a lot – and I mean a lot! I’ve seen loads of great fan art and people tweeting about how the last book in series got them in the feels via gifs.

So, as my blog name would suggest, I got very curious about this book. So I got myself the first book in the series.

(P.S. This review will be spoiler-free, so don’t worry about it!) Continue reading “A Darker Shade of Magic – Book Review”

June Summary

Hello, people of the internet!

I haven’t been very active on my blog this month and, even though I do wish I did upload more posts, I was glad to take a break. I did upload every day in May and I’ve been very busy this month with other things, which meant that blogging had to be put back a bit unfortunately.

Anyway, enough about me and my lack of blogging, here is what I got up to blogging-wise anyway! Continue reading “June Summary”

My Friday Thoughts – Should Book Reviews Talk About Spoilers?

Hello, people of the internet!

Whenever I look up reviews about books I am interested in, I tend to find two types of reviews: ones that talk about spoilers and ones that dare not even mention them. They are both equally good reviews, but it does leave me wondering this:

Should book reviews talk about spoilers?

Here is what I think! Continue reading “My Friday Thoughts – Should Book Reviews Talk About Spoilers?”

Girl Hearts Girl – Book Review

Hello, people of the internet!

As part of The Little Contemporary Corner’s LGBTQ+ book club, I have read this book written by Lucy Sutcliffe, who is a YouTuber, about her self-acceptance of being a lesbian as well as finding love for the first time.

I have read LGBTQ+ themed books before, but I haven’t read an autobiography about homosexuality before. I was really excited to read this! Continue reading “Girl Hearts Girl – Book Review”
